Ensuring Fair Play: Player Protections, Compliance, and Responsible Gaming
The Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance, 2025 places strong emphasis on player protection and responsible gaming. Key safeguards are built into the licensing requirements to ensure transparency, security, and fair access to online gaming platforms.
All licensees must register players before they can participate in gaming. Players are required to provide proof of identity, date of birth, and place of residence. No one can engage in gaming activities without completing this verification process.
The legal minimum age for participation is 18. Licensees must prevent access to anyone underage and implement systems to verify player age. Violations can result in fines of up to $50,000, and any prize won by a minor must be forfeited to the Authority.
Operators are also required to display responsible gaming warnings on their websites, including notices about the risk of addiction. Players must be offered tools to self-exclude or set personal limits, and licensees must actively maintain a self-exclusion list. Allowing a self-excluded player to continue gaming carries a fine of $8,000.
To ensure fairness, licensees must maintain game integrity, provide clear rules, prevent collusion, and safeguard player data through strong encryption and privacy standards.
These measures are essential to building a safe and trusted online gaming environment in Nevis.
