The Nevis Online Gaming Ordinance, 2025 introduces a robust regulatory framework for online gaming, anchored by the establishment of the Nevis Online Gaming Authority. This newly formed body is tasked with licensing, regulation, enforcement, and oversight of all online gaming activities conducted from or within Nevis.

A Professional and Independent Regulator

Created under Section 3 of the Ordinance, the Authority operates in partnership with the Minister of Finance and is managed by an independent, locally incorporated management company. The company recruits qualified personnel based on merit and professional competence, ensuring transparent and impartial regulation.

Key staff include:

• A Chief Executive Officer, overseeing daily operations;

• A Compliance Officer, monitoring regulatory adherence;

• A Technical Officer, managing systems and cybersecurity;

• A Finance and Admin Officer, handling finances and internal processes.

All staff must uphold a strict code of conduct and take an oath of secrecy and impartiality.

Regulatory Responsibilities

Under Section 4, the Authority is responsible for:

• Reviewing and recommending licensing decisions;

• Auditing licensee operations;

• Enforcing compliance measures;

• Resolving player complaints;

• Reporting quarterly to the Minister;

• Advising on measures to combat illegal gaming.

To maintain independence, the Ordinance prohibits the management company and its personnel from holding any gaming licence or financial interest in a licensee.
